Plant a Thought Project

Have you ever propagated a plant? If you have, you know how exciting it is to watch the small plants begin to grow, and it is an inexpensive way to fill the garden.

Many gardens were lost in the October 2013 bushfires and as we watch the bush regenerate we know plants have developed an amazing variety of strategies to succeed in the struggle for survival. Our community has also demonstrated this resilience. The Plant a Thought Project is a way you can help fire affected residents by propagating plants. This project invites involvement from all our experienced and novice propagators from the community, services and organisations. When your plants are ready they will be collected and distributed to the residents as they begin to rebuild their lives. You can provide plants once, or make this an ongoing support. You can also include a card with your plants to let the recipients know who gave the gift of 'planting a thought'.

This project encourages and supports active community involvement in partnership with Springwood Rotary and Springwood Uniting Church.
